Are You Where You Want To Be In Life?
Are you where you want to be in your life-financially, healthily, in your partnership, or your career? Silly's question? Ok, I don't think so. I have asked myself this question hundreds of times in my life, and more often than not, I have to confess that the reaction to one of the areas of life was-no.
In life, you can only be one of three positions (I am a general here)-where you have been or have seen, where you are now and where you will be in the future. I know this could at first sound a little complicated but think about it-for example, where you are now in your car, in your workplace, in your kitchen, or your backyard-the easy answers.
Where do you want to be tomorrow-the rough answers-because this is where it can be a little tricky. But hold this issue in mind generally-don't get into the weeds in any single field of existence-just aim at the broader image of your life. For example, in the future you want to be with somebody or someone else, you want to be living anywhere else or unemployed, you want to be well off financially or you want to get out of the current negative health problem that is plaguing you right now-yes, there are a hundred more questions like this-I used them to make the procedure, but not really the results-simple.
This is the obstacle. By the end of the day, you're going to be where you're going today-so if you want to be better tomorrow, you have to take the initiative to get there today. Failed to take it, and tomorrow you'll be in the same position as you are now-and-again to be clear-I'm not talking about where you're in your car or the kitchen, I'm sure that if you're still reading, you've worked out the subtleties that I'm trying to share.
So, where do you want this position to be tomorrow? Go ahead and pick up a couple of details like—better or different; jobs, relationship, where you live, what you drive, how your mates are, how safe you are, your financial condition—go ahead—write them down—as much as you can—trust me that you can't get there if you're not sure on where "there" is. And why-well, if you don't realize what they are, what do you suppose the odds are that things will shift or be different tomorrow than they are today?
I'm going to guarantee that everybody needs something better, fresh or different tomorrow in every region of their lives-to be younger, to be around different friends, to be living new, etc. If it's a tiny difference or a big one, it's not the issue-the what's issue-is your willingness either to let go of your hope, dream, plan, or desire-essentially to give up or settle-or to take the requisite moves or measures today to get there or to start making it happen.
Why do people desire anything great or anything new, and still don't do something to get there? Why are they settled? Why are they giving up or in? Why are they leaving? I might go on for hours or books, but how about three (yes, there are several more) fast reasons; 1) Apprehension of the uncertain future-is it always going to be better or different, or should I just remain where I am? May I monitor the future, please? What if it doesn't work out the way I was aiming for it? 2) Fear of rejection or failure-what if I choose not to succeed?
What if I do that and people laugh at me for doing it at this point or period of my life? 3) Fear of success. What if I do it and have it or do it, and it doesn't measure up to my hopes or needs?
This is the biggest challenge you face whether you have either of these three fears-you prefer to describe the potential through your history or present; experiences, actions, consequences, decisions, etc. In other words, you've already suffered financially so why you want the future to be different. You've always been unhappy in marriages, so why do you want the future to be better or different? All, you realize that in your age group, gender, ethnicity, faith, etc., you never did what you wanted to do? Get it-with these reflections, you let the actions or choices of others or history govern your absolute future.
No one knows what's next, whether you're ruined or a millionaire, dumb or the brightest guy in the world, good or very sick, pretty or handsome or ugly like sin, etc. No one understands how acts, choices, judgments, or something can happen tomorrow. It's all about desire, trust, bravery, enthusiasm, effort, and acceptance, and yes—resilience, self-confidence, patience, and hope. If you don't have all of these-stay trapped. If you've got them-go with it.
